Take On Sports offers athletic opportunities for Special Needs Youth and Adults with physical and/or intellectual challenges. We offer youth programs for ages 5-22 and adult programs for ages 23 and up. For more information about any of our sports, please email info@takeonsports.org.

Sports
Baseball
- Take On Sports Baseball is a sanctioned Little League Challenger Division league.
- There are three skill levels, Tee-Ball, Minors (Modified Coach-pitch), and Majors (Coach-pitch)
- This league runs six weeks.
- A parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver is required to remain on-site during any Take On Sports activity.
- Cost is $55 and includes a t-shirt, baseball hat and trophy
- Athletes are paired with buddy volunteers
- Youth Program:
- Must be 5 years old as of January 1st (eligible through 22nd birthday)
- Adult Program:
- Age 23 and older as of January 1st
- Buddy Volunteers (no registration fee):
- For youth program - must be 10 years old as of January 1st
- For adult program - must be 18 years old as of January 1st (background check required)
- Location: Weddington Optimist Park Baseball Fields - 5211 Weddington Road, Weddington, NC 28104
Basketball
- This league runs six weeks.
- A parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver is required to remain on-site during any Take On Sports activity.
- Cost is $55 and includes a t-shirt and trophy

- Adult Program:
- Age 23 and older as of August 1st

- Location: Weddington Middle School Gym (behind the bus parking lot) - 5903 Deal Road, Matthews, NC 28104
Bowling
- This league runs six weeks.
- A parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver is required to remain on-site during any Take On Sports activity.
- Cost is $85 and includes a t-shirt and trophy
- Athletes are paired with buddy volunteers

- Must be 5 years old as of November 1st (eligible through 22nd birthday)
- Adult Program:
- Age 23 and older as of November 1st
- Buddy Volunteers (no registration fee):
- For youth program - must be 10 years old as of November 1st
- For adult program - must be 18 years old as of November 1st (background check required)
- Location: Bowlero Matthews - 11210 Brigman Road, Matthews, NC 28105
Fitness
- Athletes will participate in exercises, stretches, fun obstacle courses, and relay races.
- A parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver is required to remain on-site during any Take On Sports activity.
- Cost is $15 and includes a t-shirt. Athletes are paired with buddy volunteers
- Youth Program:
- Must be 5 years old as of January 1st (eligible through 22nd birthday)
- Adult Program:
- Age 23 and older as of January 1st
- Buddy Volunteers (no registration fee):

Football
- This league runs six weeks and is a division of Pop Warner Football
- A parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver is required to remain on-site during any Take On Sports activity.
- Cost is $55 and includes a t-shirt and trophy
- Athletes are paired with buddy volunteers
- Youth Program:
- Must be 5 years old as of July 1st (eligible through 22nd birthday)
- Adult Program:
- Age 23 and older as of July 1st
- Buddy Volunteers (no registration fee):
- For youth program - must be 10 years old as of July 1st
- For adult program - must be 18 years old as of July 1st (background check required)

Soccer
- This league runs six weeks
- A parent, legal guardian, or authorized caregiver is required to remain on-site during any Take On Sports activity.
- Cost is $55 and includes a t-shirt and trophy
- Athletes must wear shin guards and athletic shoes. Shin guards aren't provided. No soccer cleats permitted.
- Athletes are paired with buddy volunteers

- Adult Program:
- Age 23 and older as of April 1st
