Weddington Optimist Club

The Weddington Optimist Club was formed in 1980 to serve the needs of the community.  In 1987, 10 members of the Weddington Optimist Club purchased 16 acres and developed the original ball fields at Weddington Optimist Park which are now leased to WCWAA. 

The club currently focuses on youth-oriented projects such as Breakfast with Santa, Oratorical Contest, Essay Contest, Most Improved Student Party and Computers for Graduating High School Seniors.
