About WCWAA
Our Mission
Wesley Chapel Weddington Athletic Association (WCWAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was formed in 1982 to provide safe, fun and healthy team sports opportunities for youth regardless of race, creed, sex, economic status or ability.
WCWAA Today
WCWAA has grown significantly since its start, now with over 5,000 participants annually. We serve youth primarily in the western part of Union County, NC. Our programming spans eight sports with opportunities for children of all ages to play recreationally or compete at a higher level year-round.
Further we offer six athletic opportunities for special needs youth and adults with physical and/or intellectual challenges through our Take On Sports program.
We are thankful to the many volunteers who make all this happen!
WCWAA is located on Hwy84 at Weddington Optimist Park in Weddington, NC.
Governance
WCWAA is governed by a board of directors who volunteer their time to oversee the organization and ensure that the children who participate in our programs have the opportunity to play, learn and grow through sports.
